The City of Dipolog was truly blessed with great bodies of water with lots of marine organisms to feed its people. In fact, fishing is the most common occupation of its people. Some use baling (fish net) to have an easy catch while for some adventurous and patient individual, using anglers or the fishing rod is a good choice. Fly-fishing is perhaps the most involving type of fishing since it ranges a wide variety of rods, lines, and fly lures available as well as the numerous delicacy of fly-fishing method.

To give recognition to this kind of hobby, the Local Government of Dipolog headed by the City Mayor Roberto Y. Uy, held a 3^rd Invitational Anglers Tournament, in line with the celebration of the 7^th Pagsalabuk Festival, held the competition at Sta. Cruz, Breakwater last Saturday, May 22, 2005.

The tournament received a great response from the Dipolognon in all walks of life. The first prize worth P1, 000 for the Heavy Category went to “Rodel” while the 2^nd prize worth P600 was given to “Edward”.

In the Light Category, “Titot” got the 1^st Place with P1, 000 in cash, 2^nd Place was “Rodel” who received P600 while Romel and Greg got the 3^rd Place, and each of them received P200 in cash.
